Are you suspicious of alternative health remedies, conspiracy theories, religious dogma, or other extraordinary claims? Then pull up a chair and meet fellow sceptics/skeptics, science buffs, atheists, agnostics, secular humanists, and freethinkers for a serving of critical thinking based on rational evidence at Skeptics in the Pub (SITP) Ottawa.We usually meet at 7:00 on the first Tuesday of the month in the right rear corner of The Lieutenant’s Pump, 361 Elgin at Waverley in Centretown. This popular monthly event is organized by several secular groups in Ottawa and you can RSVP on behalf of you and your friends at the Meetup pages for either Humanist Ottawa or Centre for Inquiry Canada (CFIC) Ottawa Branch. Food and drinks are optional, but good conversation is on tap and on the house!The first SITP was held in London in 1999, and groups now meet regularly in over 100 cities across the UK and more than 20 countries around the world. This is a fun and relaxed social event where you can simply exchange ideas and opinions with the people at your table on different topics as they come up. Join us when you can, leave when you want, and speak as much or as little as you like.
